Life is getting back to normal around the Messinger home. My tummy is healing nicely (except for when I play too hard and it starts to bleed). I got to go on a couple short walks this week and Saturday I got to climb the stairs all by myself.
Enjoy the pictures!

Sierra Sunday: Week 15
This week has been rough...
Dad took me to the vet on Thursday to take a nap and when I woke up I had a cone on my head and a zipper on my tummy. I have spent the rest of the week getting carried up and down the stairs and sleeping.

Well mom just gave me some peanut butter and it is making me sleepy so I better take a nap.

Wasilla Tour: Williams Reindeer Farm
At the next stop we got to interact with the Reindeer at Williams Reindeer Farm.
I even got to pet this handsome moose.
Hope you enjoy the Reindeer, Caribou, and Moose as much as I did.

Wasilla Tour: Musk Ox
The next part of our tour included going to The Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, Alaska.
Here in Alaska they have domesticated Musk Ox not for the meat but for their qiviut under wool.
We went on a great tour with a tour guide who knew her stuff and also used humor to help us remember.
This year they had 13 baby Musk Ox and they all are named after spices, for example Paprika and Mace.

It was a great afternoon at the Musk Ox Farm.

Wasilla Tour: The Iditarod
Our first stop on the Wasilla Tour was the Iditarod Trail Race Headquarters.
At the headquarters we got to ride on a training sled and be pulled by a team of dogs. We also got to watch a video on the 2009 race and hold some puppies that will be racing soon.

We had so much fun and I can't wait to take my parents when they visit next month.

Wasilla Tour: The Alaska Railroad
This past weekend I had the opportunity to go on a tour to Wasilla. My friend Ashleigh and I rode the train to Wasilla where we met our tour guide.
Leaving the train station...
First time I have been on this side of a railroad crossing ;-)
Elmendorf Air Force Base = Home
The Train Speeds up on base to prevent people from jumping off.
The firemen on base use this plane to practice fighting fires.
Check back tomorrow for pictures of the Iditarod Headquarters.

Sierra Sunday: Week 14
Today I got to go for a ride in the truck on the Fort Rich side of base. We saw lots of lakes, rivers, mountains, and even a porcupine.
Why did mom have to forget the mosquito spray?
It looks like dad just finished cutting the grass so I better go play.
Have a great week.
Love, Sierra
