Meet Sierra

This week we welcomed a little Weimaraner into our family. She is 12 weeks old and is already giving us a run for our money. She is a bit clumsy which has increased the amount of laughter in our home. She loves toys, her bed, and both of us. So far her friends consist of Sully, the guys at the gate, and everyone at Petsmart. Enjoy some pictures:

Sully recommended Carrot Dog Toy and so far it is a huge hit. 

She thinks she is a lap dog which will be fun when she is full grown.

As you can see i am a bit tired...

Fur Rondy

Today we had the chance to go out to the Fur Rondy dog sled races. 

The Fur Rondy Festival started in the 1930's and is still going strong!

"The World Championship Sled Dog Race debuted in 1946 and has become the cornerstone event of the Festival bringing teams of sled dogs and mushers to Anchorage from across Alaska and all over the world. The World Championship Dog Weight Pull began in 1967 as a bet between two dog owners to see whose animal could pull the most weight. Four decades later, dog owners are still competing against each other for the cash, notoriety and the illustrious World Champion title for the event. Other traditional Fur Rondy events include the Rondy Carnival, the Grand Parade, the uniquely Alaskan Original Men's Snowshoe Softball and the Grand Prix Auto Race, one of the oldest street races in North America" (furrondy.net)

It was a bit chilly (12 degrees) but we enjoyed watching how excited the dogs were to run! Here are some of the pics from the day. Enjoy!

Long Weekends

Happy Birthday Washington!

Drew: Do you know what is better than a 3 day weekend?

Me: No clue

Drew: The 4 day work week that follows

We spent our long weekend going out with our friends, relaxing at home, shopping and going to the gym with our friends. The gym is so much better when I can walk and chat while Drew works out with the guys.

Learning to LOVE

This ballet flat loving lady has had to turn in the flats for some boots...

I am slowly learning to love the legging and boot look mostly because I love to be warm! What do you think?

I wear these to the mail box, the grocery store, church,
our friends house, date night, etc.  

My Columbia Snow Boots

I like to wear these while shoveling snow.  They have lots of traction however I may have ate it in the driveway while wearing these to the mail box.  OUCH

My Leather Boots (Thanks hubby)

I wear these when I want to make Andrew hold me up.  They have no traction and I may break an arm wearing them but they are cute so I like to chance it.

These will save my life once the snow starts to melt (or so I am told)

I am so excited it is getting warmer.  Maybe I will pull out the flats this weekend.

Back to Cooking

While Andrew was in Texas for those 8 months I got a break from meal planning and cooking. It took some time but I am finally back in the swing of things and trying some new meals that will put some weight on Drew.
